Program Description

UB’s Inbound Long-term International Academic Program is a 14-week course (40 hours) designed by Universitas Brawijaya for international students who wish to experience a non-degree program at UB. Students will learn from classroom experiences, multiple site visits, and project reporting throughout the course. It is a part of Global Academic Engagement (GAE), the initiative of the Vice-Rector for academic affairs of Universitas Brawijaya. The course is fully taught in English.

The LIAP program aims to:

  1. Provide relevant knowledge and skills to students
  2. Introduce students to the global academic experience
  3. Immerse students in Indonesian academic and cultural experience
  4. Promote cultural exchange
  5. Improve understanding among students from different parts of the world

The benefit of joining the course will be:

  1. Credit transfer
  2. Classroom and site visit experience
  3. Free tuition fee at UB
  4. Certificate of Completion and Certificate of an international mobility

Program Content 2023: UB Microcredentials Course on Sustainable Development

This course is an introduction to the key principles of sustainable development and the application of such principles in Indonesian development. The course provides theoretical insights and practical learning experiences from relevant industry, society, and social organisations. The themes taught include food security, good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, gender equality, project planning, affordable and clean energy, economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; sustainable cities and communities; and climate change.

The courses will be taught from multiple perspectives and disciplines at Universitas Brawijaya. You will gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and the implication of each theme learned towards development.

At the end of the course, you are expected to present your project related to the chosen theme from the course.

UB’s course on Sustainable Development aims to:

  1. Introduce the principles of United Nations  Sustainable Development Goals and their application in a developing country
  2. Train students in knowledge and skills in a shorter period of time than the degree program

Certificate

A certificate of awarding will be held at the end of the teaching/learning period. You will receive digital certificates (paper certificates are also available upon request) upon completion of the course. Credit transfer is given if you join at least 80% of the program, including the project.
